Electrical Utility Superintendent, Facility Plant Operations

Plans, organizes and supervises assigned functions in the installation, repair, renovation, modification, etc., of building Electrical utility systems and the high voltage distribution system.   Manages the high voltage electricians and assures that the high voltage system is tested and maintained in good working conditions throughout. Assures that the Cogen high voltage system is properly configured during sheltering in place and hurricane evacuation mode. Must be available to work overtime as needed, including holidays, weekend, vacation/sick relief and during hurricanes.

• Skilled in all areas concerning the electrical industry.
• Good working knowledge of National Electrical Code and City of New Orleans requirements.
• Mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work with computerized energy dashboard.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years' experience in the Electrical Field, to include working on a facility wide electrical distribution system, experience working on 4.16 kV and 15 kV electrical distribution equipment including, vacuum, SF6 gas, and fused switchgear, and some supervisory or administrative position is preferred.
• Experience in medium voltage cable testing and installation, electronic protection relays, utility metering and 4.16 kV starters.
• Experience in Preventive Maintenance
• Must have City of New Orleans Class "C" Maintenance Electrician Certificate upon date of hire.
• Must have a valid and unrestricted (not including corrective lens needs) U.S. Driver's license and must meet the Tulane University Motor Vehicle Policy criteria to become authorized as a driver

• Supervisory experience.
• Good communication skills and good judgment.
• Physical ability to perform all duties associated with this job.
