ABOUT THIS POSITION

The Aviation Department is seeking a motivated Electrician to fill their position. The Electrician position performs skilled level electrician work in the maintenance, construction, installation, alteration/modification, and repair of electrical systems such as airfield series lighting, medium voltage gear, and preventive maintenance on equipment and fixtures. Work is performed in accordance with standard practices of the electrical trade for primarily commercial and industrial applications. Certain assignments may include electronics metering and instrumentation and working with various voltages. Assignments are received verbally and electronically through the work order process.

SALARY

Pay Range: $28.86 to $40.61 per hour.

Hiring Range: $28.86 to $36.84 per hour.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of a recognized four-year electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent training.
  • Or three years of experience as a skilled electrician.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:
  • Commercial and/or industrial experience.
  • Experience with NFPA-70 and NFPA-70E requirements.
  • Experience working with medium voltage (maintenance, installation, equipment, and substations).
  • Experience reviewing plans, making recommendations, and working with contractors and /or service partners.
  • May require working:
    • At heights up to 100 feet.
    • Second or third shift, nights, weekends, and holidays.
    • In small, cramped areas such as ceiling crawl spaces, and equipment enclosures.
    • Outside in a various environmental extremes such as heat, cold, rain, air pollution, and dust.
