Electronic Log Device (ELD) Specialist-Anchorage, AK

Responsibilities:
  • Provide guidance and assistance to the transportation divisions, specific to the application of Federal, State and Company policy/procedures as they relate to Commercial Motor Vehicles operations and Electronic Log Device use.
  • Managing Company wide drug testing program including all aspects of policy & procedure development/updating.
  • Provides training structure and materials for driver training certification program.
  • Monitor safety events from the Electronic Log Device system and assign training based on investigation. Monitor that assigned training is completed in a satisfactory amount of time.
  • Create reports based on Electronic Log Device data for divisions and communicate results to divisional management.
  • Assists with CDL classroom training and conducts training sessions.
  • Responsible for accident investigation, preventability determinations, and collision/incident review.
Requirements:
  • Current, valid driver's license, with three (3) years clean driving record. Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) will be requested.
  • Must be 21 years of age to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Must have held your Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Must be certified as physically qualified through a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screen.
  • Must live or be willing to reside in Alaska.
  • Preferred two (2) years of commercial driving.
  • Preferred one (1) year experience in Driver Qualification requirements, Samsara ELD system knowledge, and CDL training experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Ability to present and speak in a training or classroom environment.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer business application, with working knowledge of computerized database systems and desktop publishing.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work, and maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals.
  • Demonstrate an ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures, and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.
  • Ability Work beyond normal business hours or on weekends may be required occasionally to support business needs, projects, or operations.
  • Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
