The Role
As an Embedded Software Engineer on the Charging and Power Management Team, you will be responsible for delivering high quality embedded code residing on all the Tesla vehicles platforms. You will be a direct contributor toward the safety and user experience of charging Tesla vehicles. You will work on a variety of different aspects of embedded programming: controlling power distribution throughout the vehicle, defining vehicle behaviors under various scenarios, defining, and implementing user interactions, and increasing robustness and reliability of low voltage power distribution. You will join a team of deeply knowledgeable and passionate engineers that strive to build the most robust and reliable embedded systems. You will solve challenging problems in the embedded software space and influence the world's adoption of electric vehicles and energy sustainability.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality C code in a real-time embedded environment
  • Specify, design, and implement functionality and behaviors of embedded subsystems
  • Design the software architecture and firmware implementation on hardware through integration, test and high-volume manufacturing
  • Hands-on hardware bring-up, system debugging and code optimization
  • Writing unit and component level tests to ensure proper functionality
  • Make performance and optimization trade-offs to meet product requirements


Requirements
  • 1.5+ years of relevant experience in embedded design
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering , experience with evidence of exceptional ability, or equivalent
  • Experience with fundamental hardware components on PCB and their analysis tools
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals including circuit analysis and design
  • Proficiency in C
  • Fluent in software fundamentals including software design and maintainability
  • Experience with the embedded microprocessor tools
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate complex technical concepts

    • Expected Compensation

      $104,000 - $348,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

      Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
