As the leader of Employee Health & Wellness at Cincinnati Children's, you are pivotal in fostering a culture of health, wellness, and safety among our workforce. This position:

• Leads the Employee Health Clinic, responsible for conducting post-offer onboarding screenings for new hires and ensuring compliance with health standards and vaccination requirements.

• Leads the Absence Management Team, responsible for designing and administering employee leave programs.

• Leads the strategy and development of Cincinnati Children's employee wellness program.

• Oversees workers' compensation and ADA processes.

• Oversees the onsite acute care clinic for employees (outsourced)

• Is a key contributor to the development and management of the organizational strategy for employee wellbeing.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in healthcare administration, occupational health, and wellness program development.

Expected Starting Salary Range: 64.96 - 91.34

SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Responsible for supporting Employee Health needs of the organization, including Worker's Compensation and other annual health, wellness, and absence programs.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leadership and Strategy

Develop and execute the organizational strategy for employee health, safety, and wellbeing. Collaborate with executive leadership to align employee health initiatives with the overall mission and goals of Cincinnati Children's. Provide visionary leadership to drive innovative and effective wellbeing programs. Participates with the Infection Prevention, Safety, Emergency Preparedness, and Staff and Patient Safety committees. Managing projects and process improvement initiatives that improve employee health and wellbeing equitably across the organization. Utilize data analytics to assess the effectiveness of employee health and wellbeing programs. Provide regular reports to leadership, identifying trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities to enhance employee health outcomes. Sharing injury and illness data with committees such as Infection Prevention and Control, Occupational Health and Safety, Hospital Operations, Patient Services Leadership, on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

• Employee Health Clinic Management

Accountable for vaccination of healthcare personnel, including the assessment of immunization status and using best practice information to properly immunize CCHMC employees against vaccine-preventable communicable diseases at no charge and in compliance with state and federal regulations. Oversee the Employee Health Clinic, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of post-offer onboarding screenings for all new hires and surveillance exams as required by regulatory agencies such as OSHA, ADA, ODH, and TJC. Manage and optimize processes related to health assessments, immunizations, and other occupational health services. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain accurate health records.

• Wellbeing Program Development and Maintenance

Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive employee wellbeing programs, addressing physical, mental, and social wellbeing, collaborating with Total Rewards, Employee Experience and the Clinical Wellbeing Office teams to further the strategy and execution of tactics. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to provide resources and support for a holistic approach to employee health. Leads the strategy, design, and evaluation of several wellbeing related programs and vendors such as: employee assistance program, weight management, onsite employee health clinic. Design and implement educational initiatives to promote employee health awareness and self-care. Provide training for staff on health and safety protocols and wellbeing resources.

• Absence Management Strategy and Policie

Design and implement comprehensive strategies and policies to address employee absences, including disability, leaves of absence, and workplace injuries. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations while providing exceptional support throughout their employees' absences and workplace injury claims. Develop and execute integrated absence management and workers' compensation programs that align with the organization's objectives and culture. Formulate strategies to reduce absenteeism, improve employee health, and enhance workforce productivity. Stay informed about federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to leave management, workers' compensation, including the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and workers' compensation laws.

• Policy Development and Compliance

Stay abreast of relevant laws and regulations related to employee health and safety. Develop and update policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards. Developing and updating protocols, policies, and procedures in collaboration with IP&C, Chief Safety Officer, and Chief Wellness Officer. Charged with protecting the individual worker's right to privacy regarding their employee health records.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field

• 10 years of progressive leadership experience in employee health, occupational health , or a related field.

• 5 years leading team

• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements related to employee health and wellbeing.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive positive change.

Preferred:

• Experience in pediatric healthcare settings is highly desirable.
