The WHS Worldwide Ergonomics and Safety Experience (WESE) team is seeking an experienced Safety program manager to develop, implement, sustain, and improve Amazon's new hire-based programs, policies, and procedures.

Additionally, this role will conduct research to continuously improve Amazon's employee safety experience with a focus on meeting current and future needs, evaluating current programs for gaps in effectiveness, and identifying opportunities for improvement.

The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge of analysis principles and best practices, will have experience integrating programs into operations, and will have successfully deployed sustainable programs in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

- Strategy and Program Development: Use analytical methodologies and industry best practices to develop highly effective programs tailored to the unique needs of the organization.

- Program Deployment: Lead the integration and implementation of Amazon's safety programs, procedures, and trainings in the field to improve safety on-boarding programs.

- Communication and Engagement: Drive awareness through effective communication and learning strategies, ensuring high levels of leadership, associate engagement, and participation in launched programs.

- Project Management: Manage projects within defined timelines and budgets, anticipate project risks, and proactively propose mitigation strategies while communicating project updates to leadership.

- Stakeholder Management & Collaboration: Collaborate with various cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and vendor partners to drive alignment, adoption, project milestones, and deliverables.

- Measurement: Define objectives, key performance indicators (KPIs), dashboards and success measures to guide implementation and monitor progress.

- Thought Leadership: Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and advancements in the field, and leverage this knowledge to drive innovative solutions.

The ideal candidate will work successfully in a fast-paced environment, has a safety operations background, is familiar with safety leadership and climate maturity models, and passionate about creating safe workplaces in an engaging way. The candidate has proven experience in collaborating with business and field teams, one who is customer obsessed, drives for results, excels at interpreting multiple data points and is detail driven. The candidate must be skilled at anticipating and resolving problems, managing multiple priorities, and communicating effectively with all levels of stakeholders across multiple geographies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of program or project management experience

- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business analytics, environmental safety and health or similar field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
