THIS IS A BILINGUAL - SPANISH POSITION; MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A BILINGUAL - SPANISH FLUENCY EXAMINATION.

If so, the Employment Development Department (EDD) is looking for a highly motivated individual that enjoys working with the public, identifies solutions in a team environment that offers a good challenge, and enjoys putting his/her communication, presentation, critical thinking, and problem solving skills to use.

Under the supervision of the Employment Program Manager I, the incumbent will present information in a classroom, virtual environment, or outdoor setting. The incumbent will offer assistance to customers following prescribed Workforce Services (WS) policies and procedures, promote EDD services and/or programs within the workforce system, and work cooperatively with local partners in the America's Job Center of California (AJCC). The incumbent may be required to stand for up to 8 hours a day and perform presentations to employers and AJCC clients on work search-related topics and to inform EDD Workforce Services customers of AJCC programs and services.
These positions will be filled for multiple locations in the San Bernardino County. The incumbent for this position must be willing and able to work at any of the three given AJCC's within the San Bernardino Cluster to include: San Bernardino, Rancho Cucamonga, and Victorville. Business hours are from 8:00 am to 5 pm and candidate will be scheduled within these hours based on business needs.

Positions exist in:
One (1) of these positions will be filled in the San Bernardino AJCC; one (1) at the Rancho Cucamonga AJCC; one (1) at the Victorville AJCC.

This position requires local in-person workload, though some telework may be available. Working Conditions
Travel and occasional overnight travel is required. Some outdoor event attendance is required. Occasional evenings and Saturdays are required. EDD Workforce Services has temporarily adopted a hybrid schedule for employees who can effectively perform their essential work functions remotely. After an initial training period, this position will allow for some telework opportunities. All telework schedules are temporary, based on current conditions and will be re-evaluated as conditions change.

    Background Investigations Requirement

    The position(s) may require an applicant to pass a background investigation. However, applicants will not be asked to provide information about a conviction history unless they receive a conditional offer of employment.

    The department will make an individualized assessment of whether the conviction history has a direct or adverse relationship with the specific duties of the job and the work performed by the department. The department will consider potential mitigating factors, including, but not limited to, evidence and extent of rehabilitation, recency, nature and seriousness, and age at the time of the offense(s).

    The investigation will consist of completion of a personal history statement and fingerprinting checks with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Justice, and/or local law enforcement agencies.
