Description:

The Production (Encore) Superintendent position is a critical leadership role within Gilbarco North America's manufacturing facility. Responsibilities will include leading the day-to-day operations of multiple departments within the North American (NA) Operations function, as well as delivering on key metrics in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and inventory.

This individual will provide guidance and leadership to the operations leadership team and their direct reports in a unionized environment. Candidates must have 3+ years of leadership experience in production manufacturing. This position will be based out of Gilbarco Veeder-Root's (the "Company") manufacturing facility in Greensboro, NC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor overall budget expense spending of multiple departments for achievement of business results.
  • Manage production operations & monitor staffing needs to achieve scheduled commitments and assure delivery dates and customer demands are met.
  • Manage overall cultural change that impacts safety, employee engagement, and drives results in productivity for our unionized hourly associates.
  • Provides leadership and direction for multiple production areas, including direct and indirect reports.
  • Interface accordingly with all appropriate departments and individuals to ensure open communications for resolution of operational needs.
  • Manage & actively participate in the use of "lean manufacturing tools" to support continuous improvement throughout Kaizen efforts.
  • Ensure quality products are produced by improving manufacturing processes through training & education.
  • Ensure areas maintains ISO "ready" compliance for all operations, methods, tooling, processes, work instructions, test equipment and training.
  • Utilize appropriate tracking & measurement systems designated by the company.
  • Manage employee issues relevant to counseling & conflict resolution per the union contract and associated policies.
  • Act as a role model to Company personnel and be recognized as a leader.
  • Manage the administration of regular safety & housekeeping audits and ensure appropriate corrective action is taken including follow-up investigations for all safety incidents to ensure a safe & clean work environment.
  • Ensure compliance for all Hazcom & OSHA regulations including necessary training.


Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree (required) Bachelors' degree preferred, concentrations include Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Supply Chain
  • Must have at least 3 years of relevant and progressive operations experience including manufacturing operations.
  • Knowledge of a variety of operational excellence competencies including but not limited to: Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Toyota Production System Tools
  • Must have at least at least 3 years of supervising hourly associates in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communications (written and verbal) and presentation/facilitation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to assess the needs of the business and implement the best solutions.
