St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Steward Health Care, Boston, MA

The Division of Endocrinology at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, a member of the Steward Health Care System, located in Boston, Massachusetts is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Endocrinologist. The Division is seeking a candidate who is collaborative, with strong clinical and communication skills, and with experience in teamwork.

St. Elizabeth's endocrinologists, all with academic appointments at Tufts University School of Medicine and Boston University School of Medicine, provide outpatient and inpatient consultative services and state-of-the-art disease management for conditions, including:

• Diabetes mellitus
• Thyroid and parathyroid disorders and nodules
• Bone disorders (osteoporosis, osteomalacia, Paget's disease, calcium disorders and other metabolic bone diseases)
• Disorders of the adrenal, pituitary and reproductive glands

Three centers, all conveniently located on St. Elizabeth's Boston campus, offer the latest diagnostic, counseling, and treatment services.

St. Elizabeth's also houses a Diabetes & Nutrition Center, which is staffed by a registered nurse and registered dietitians and is recognized by the American Diabetes Association. In close collaboration with our providers and certified diabetes educators, the center offers diabetes self-management education (DSME) program, insulin initiation and titration guidance, and provides personalized diagnosis and treatment for patients with the metabolic syndrome, type 1 and type 2 diabetes, and gestational diabetes.

Candidates with a special interest and personal experience in population health management with a focus on optimizing diabetes care across the continuum in a large integrated health care system and an accountable care organization may further explore this additional unique opportunity.

St. Elizabeth's Medical Center is a 285-bed teaching hospital that serves as the referral site for the nine-hospital Steward Health Care System in Eastern Massachusetts. Coverage includes both hospital and outpatient populations. Applicant must be Board Eligible/Certified in Endocrinology. This position features a Faculty appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine commensurate with background.
