Description:
Schedule Requirements for this position: able to arrive at facility within 30 min of notification,

1 full weekend a month, Sat and Sunday 24 hours both days a nd minimum 1 night per week, 5p-7a

Endo Tech:
Assists the physician in the performance of endoscopic and various complex interventional cases. Maintains supplies and equipment in the Endoscopy Department in proper working order. Cleans and disinfects equipment according to unit and hospital policy. Provides appropriate patient care to the Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy patient under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Performance of clerical duties as necessary to assure optimal function of Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy. Assemble and maintain patient chart material, maintain records and files, maintains order, cleanliness of the workstation. Completes charges for patients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists the physician in the performance of endoscopic procedures
Assists in wide array of complicated interventional procedures such as EUS, ERCP, Lithotripsy, Spyglass, EMR, Barrax, POEMS, Esophageal Stents, Duodenal Stents, Axios Stents, Bravos, Liver Biopsies etc.
Main preceptor for new tech staff teaching proper care and maintenance of scopes and orients staff to various skills and responsibilities needed to assist physicians in GI procedures.
Orders and maintains par levels of GI specific equipment and supplies. Recommends equipment orders to leadership.
Cleans and disinfects equipment according to unit and hospital policy
Assemble and maintain patient chart material, maintain records and files, maintains order, cleanliness of the workstation.
Performs clerical duties as necessary to assure optimal function of Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- On Call, overnight, weekends and holidays rotation

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Basic computer skills.
Knowledge of handling hazardous substances.
Skill and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in-writing.
Tact, discretion, diplomacy, and ability to work effectively with others.
Ability to work as a member of a team.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High school graduate or equivalent.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Two (2) years of Endoscopy Tech experience.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Current AHA BLS Certification required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience in Endoscopy preferred.
Preferred graduate of GI/OR Technology program
GTS Certification preferred
AGTS Certification preferred
