Job Summary:

Assists nurses and physicians with general, advanced and interventional endoscopic procedures and related services.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

A minimum of 1 year of progressive experience as an Endoscopy Technician I at Froedtert Health or experience performing the duties of Endoscopy Technician II at another facility is required.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

High School diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Surgical Technician or EMT education program is required. In lieu of education; two years experience as a GI Technician will be accepted.
SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:

Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to prioritize, concentrate and pay close attention to details.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:

American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 3 months of hire. Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Surgical Technician or EMT certification is required. In lieu of certification; two years experience as a GI Technician will be accepted. Completion of Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) Associates Program within 6 months of hire. Completion of Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) Advanced Associates Program within 6 months after completion of Associates Program.
