Job Summary:

SharePoint Engineer, Professional Services is responsible for assisting the Project team and providing knowledge and expertise for a range of SharePoint project implementations and extended client engagements. The ideal candidate has a high level of attention to detail, takes initiative, and can drive results for customer requirements. SharePoint Engineer, Professional Services will be responsible for maintaining the organization's standard for customer service and delivering projects with the highest attention to compliance and quality. It is paramount to always provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:
  • Project Utilization of 70% per week, including all dispatch and project work directly involved for the client.
  • As requested, travel onsite to client offices to provide services supporting the project team. Days not spent travelling will be worked either onsite at the office or in the agreed upon remote location.
  • Provide superior service to customers and clients.
  • Work closely with the project team to complete the defined project objectives outlined in the project statement of work.
  • Collect and analyze project data to create status reports against the established project milestones and recommend future actions.
  • Review reports of production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine or address issues.
  • Assess the status of projects against the planned schedule, identify actual or potential problems, and facilitate solutions to ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Manage and prioritize personal utilization in project work to ensure that hours are being directed towards productive, billable work.
  • Other related duties as assigned, managing service tickets that are assigned to the project team queue, and responding in an agreed upon timeframe.
  • Analyzes and troubleshoots ticket logs and tracks the nature and resolution of problems and can perform all levels of routing incident analysis.
  • Acts as a first level technical escalation point to assist associate engineers with troubleshooting technical challenges and providing solutions, escalating further to senior engineers when necessary.
  • Interacts and works directly with multiple advanced engineer groups and vendors to escalate technical issues, provide client updates, and drive incidents to resolution often collaborating between more than one group at a time if needed.

  • Participate in planning and execution of SharePoint architecture and design
  • Developing SharePoint site architecture, creating sites and libraries
  • Adding users controlling access to SharePoint sites, document libraries and permissions
  • Performing migration of content from various sources to SharePoint Online environments
  • Provide guidance and recommendations for enterprise deployments of SharePoint Online
  • Troubleshooting and resolving SharePoint issues or malfunctions
  • Able to understand, develop and perform advanced PowerShell commands
  • Familiarity with data retrieval and SharePoint backup
  • Managing SharePoint storage allocations and assisting with advanced cleanup and data archival
  • Familiarity with SharePoint usage and activity reports and adjusting to ensure optimized user experiences
  • Maintain current industry knowledge of development concepts, best practices and procedures for SharePoint solutions
  • Creation of usage analytics dashboards and reports
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and controls requirements
  • Troubleshooting and incident handling for customer support tickets when necessary
  • Power Automate integration with SharePoint
  • Advanced SharePoint feature sets including Data Loss Prevention (DLP), designing SharePoint workflows and advanced permission structures
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft 365 Teams & associated Microsoft 365 groups and their integration with SharePoint
  • Understanding of OneDrive, integrations with SharePoint for end-user device syncing and access, as well as OneDrive data migrations
  • SharePoint migration experience including but not limited to:
  • Microsoft SharePoint migration toolset
  • AvePoint migration toolset
  • ShareGate migration toolset
  • BitTitan / MigrationWiz toolset
  • CloudFuze, Cloudiway & 3rd party migration toolsets in general are preferable


    • Performing SharePoint end-user training
    • Developing client-specific documentation
    • Basic understanding of Microsoft Windows /Active Directory and related services
    • Experience with identity management and governance within SharePoint Online36
    • Understanding of Entra ID security groups and how this directly relates to SharePoint deployments and configurations
    • Advanced understanding of Microsoft 365 Entra ID, App Registrations, Enterprise applications and their integration with 3rd party migration services.
    • Advanced understanding of Microsoft 365 Multi-Factor authentication, its integration and user requirements

    Experience

    Experience
    • 5+ years of experience as a SP Administrator.
    • 3+ years of experience working with SP migrations utilizing both Microsoft free toolsets and 3rd party migration services
    • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering, business, or IT-related field preferred
    • Active Directory experience for managing users and groups
    • Identity management / authentication technology experience, SSO/SAML, MFA
    • Familiarity with Entra ID, Graph API, and dynamic security group rules
    • Power Platform - PowerBI, Power Automate and Power Apps are big plus
