Duties
- The incumbent plans, schedules, and oversees road maintenance activities and related administrative functions for roadways and timber access roads within the assigned geographic area.
- Responsible for the proper use and maintenance of all equipment assigned to the work unit, including both light and heavy-duty equipment such tractors, trucks, loaders, and other engineering and construction equip and tools.
- In the event of major disasters to roadways such as slides, washouts, etc., the incumbent issues specific instructions to subordinates/supervisors.
- Interviews candidates for subordinate positions; recommends appointment, promotion, or assignment of personnel for positions
- Prepares and is responsible for long-term programming and annual budgeting submissions and ensures program accomplishments are achieved within budget allocations.
- Works with realty personnel and other relevant staff members at all levels to review and provide recommendations, within deadlines, regarding terms and conditions submittals from industry partners for hauling activities on BLM roads.
- Operates heavy equipment and trucks as needed to assist crews and train crew members.
- Procures, or arranges for the procurement of, necessary supplies for routine and special projects to ensure the unit's continuous daily operations.

- If selected for this position, you will be required to annually complete a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450 within 30 days of reporting to duty. You will be required to provide this information annually.
- You must be 18 years of age or older to be assigned to a hazardous position.
- You must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Class A, B or C endorsement.
- An applicant appointed to this position must possess (or obtain within 30 days of entrance on duty) and maintain a valid state driver's license while employed in this position.
