SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Manage inspection Department to ensure that products/projects are in conformance with specifications. The equipment includes (but not limited to)
  • Fired Heaters
  • Boilers
  • Syngas Reformers
  • Waste Heat Recovery Units
  • Generate all inspection related project documents including Inspection & Test Plan
  • Review and approve all inspection related projects documents (but not limited to) Weld Procedures, Weld maps, Welder Qualifications, NDE Procedure (Radiography, MT/PT, Hydrostatic Test, PMI, Load testing...) and Vendor ITP,
  • Participate in Project Constructability Reviews
  • Using inspectors to expedite follow up of inspection issues to ensure timely delivery of fabricated equipment as required by the projects.
  • Participate and lead in Pre-Inspection Meetings
  • Provide administrative and supervisory direction to the staff personnel including inspection coordinators
  • Interface with Client, PCD departments, vendors, 3 rd party inspectors and Authorized Inspectors to ensure all inspection requirements, problems, etc. are met/resolved.
  • Ensure compliance with all department procedures, policies and work rules
  • Supervise department work to ensure efficient and technically correct inspection function on all projects.
  • Working with the project managers to ensure that all work is following laws, codes, specifications and contract requirements.
  • Must ensure compliance with inspection standards and procedures.
  • Establish and revise inspection procedures when appropriate.
  • Participate in Department Audits
  • Must be able to visit vendor facilities (domestic and international) to ensure/maintain the highest level of quality for products.
  • Assist with specification and inspection requirement reviews during proposals
  • Support company for inspection needs
  • Contribute to global group effort to streamline inspection procedures and documents and support other offices, as needed


MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE SPECIALIZED SKILLS, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE DESIRED IN THIS POSITION:
  • BS in Engineering or related field or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience may be substituted for degree.
  • 8 years of technical experience with 3 years in a related management level position.
  • Must have at least 4 years of experience related to the Manufacturing/Fabrication industry and EPCs, including past inspection experience.
  • Experience with Fired Heaters, Waste Heat Recovery Units, Syngas Reformers and Boilers
  • Well versed with Inspection and NDE requirements of API 560, ASME (Sec I, VIII, IX, B31.3, B31.1) and applicable ASTM standards
  • Familiar with CSA standards
  • API 936 Certified Refractory Inspector
  • Must be certified welding inspector (CWI)
  • Certified NDT inspector per SNT-TC-1A or NAS 410
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications and inspection instructions.
  • Must be able to work in shop and/or field environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills essential.
  • Working knowledge of Windows based software programs and Document Management Software like Aconex.
  • Must have or be able to obtain valid TWIC card
  • Must obtain certification for API SIFE - Source Inspector Fixed equipment
