POSITION SUMMARY

Advanced Thin Films (ATF) manufactures optics for high energy lasers and is undertaking multiple large projects to develop new capabilities and to optimize existing capabilities and procedures. In support of these projects, this summer internship will involve executing an engineering project(s) on the Innovation and Development team and supporting the engineering tasks related to our facility move.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop a project timeline and scope for the determined project(s)
  • Follow the project design review process
  • Communicate and work with all relevant stakeholders, including engineers, technicians, and senior leadership
  • Determine and acquire all needed consumables, tools, and equipment for the project
  • Develop, execute, and analyze the tests and test results within the project
  • Communicate with cross-functional teams to schedule resources and time on equipment
  • Help with daily engineering activities and tasks
  • Document project(s) and task progress
  • Effectively transition the project to another team member at the conclusion of the internship
  • Present the project and other accomplishments to key stakeholders at the conclusion of the internship
  • Apply 5S with the equipment and tools for the facility move

  • Work effectively with supervisor guidance

  • Identify, research, and resolve issues
  • Work well with time and resource limitations
  • Ability to document project progress and learnings

CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Working towards a Bachelor's degree in STEM field

This position may require lawful access to ITAR/EAR controlled information and employees in this role will need to meet those requirements. Requirements include US Citizenship, US Permanent Residence or ability to meet contract-specific licensure requirements.

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $35,600.00 - $53,400.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
