Duties:
  • Lead engineering department with design and engineering.
  • Support sales department with pre-sale design and estimating.
  • Lead post sales system design including equipment choices.
  • Lead and/or assist with system programming.
  • Assist systems delivery process from order receipt to project completion.
  • Manage the Engineering and CAD for all design.
  • Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals.
  • Coordinate and monitor the work quality of employee, subcontractors to ensure professional, timely drawings are complete.
  • Monitor, manage and improve the efficiency of support services such as efficient maintenance of project paperwork to include contracts, revisions, estimates, work drawing and specifications.
  • Facilitate coordination and communication between support functions.
  • Leadership role in developing, implementing and measuring standard work in our installation and service businesses.
  • Identify where the team needs improvement or adjusted priorities.
  • Assign designs requests as they come in to manage the design team's workload.
  • Complete engineering requests in accordance with sound business practices and general corporate policies.
Education/Certification:
  • 4 year degree required. Master's Degree preferred.
  • NICET Certification
Experience
  • 5+ years of industry experience. Strong understanding of fire, sprinkler systems, low-voltage systems, installation and testing.
Skills/Requirements
  • Proficient knowledge in current codes such as NFPA, UBC, UFC and the principles and practices of fire protection engineering.
  • Must demonstrate competency in advanced fire alarm design (High-rise, Smoke control, Voice, etc.)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adjust to shifting priorities
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, delays or unexpected events; manage competing demands; change approach or method to best fit the situation.
  • Experience with employee relations, talent management/engagement, team building, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work with and influence peers and management.
  • Available for travel, which may include nights and weekends to accommodate customer's schedule.
  • Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to: climbing up or down ladders, occasional lifting up to 50lbs, stairs, scaffolding, ramps and the like; remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods; moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another; moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces; and general office duties including use of a computer.
