ENGINEERING MANAGER - R&D PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

As the Engineering Manager you will be responsible for managing the Product Engineering Team (~6) including interns and co-ops to execute and deliver R&D Projects, New Product Development Initiatives, Product Changes, and Product Testing. This includes managing processes and procedures, monitoring process of engineering initiatives while resolving issues efficiently, and reviewing engineering outputs including designs, specifications, and DHF documentation. The Engineering Manager will be instrumental in securing patents and freedom to operate for new initiatives. The Engineering Manager will focus on improving product design, increasing speed to market, and reducing product failure risk.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelors Degree or higher in Engineering or a related STEM field.
  • Seeking at least 4 years of managing R&D/engineering team activities.
  • Experience with 5-Why, Fish Bone and other problem-solving tools.
  • Six Sigma background with Lean manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with cGMP, and ISO 14971 methods.


Qualifications
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Experience with project management software for progress reporting, Microsoft Office, Autodesk Inventor, 3D Printing is needed
  • Must have good people, analytical and writing skills.
  • Should have experience applying statistical process controls.
  • Requires strong attention to detail
  • Work well cross-functionally with leadership and manage teams
  • 10% travel potential
