Your Job

As an Engineering Supervisor, you will oversee the engineering team responsible for New Product Introduction (NPI) and production support. Key responsibilities include providing mechanical and electrical design solutions for new product development and ensuring adherence to the Product Development Process (PDP). You will supervise Mechanical Product Design Engineers and collaborate with internal teams (PD, PE, MFG, MIE, QA, US Design) and external partners (customers and suppliers).

Our Team

Based in Naperville, you will lead the US Design engineering team within Printed Circuit Solutions focused on developing User Interface, Smart Label, Sensor, and Power Electronics products for the Enabling Solutions Business Unit at Molex.

What You Will Do
  • Supervise engineering team supporting NPI and Production business making sure expectations for each member are clearly defined and employees are held accountable.
  • Provide front end engineering activities including concept work and costing of design. During NPI responsibilities include collecting VOC, providing accurate cost, establishing quotations, and ensuring profit margins are protected. Upon receipt of customer orders ensuring prototypes are built correctly and meet all customer requirements and expectations.
  • Maintain adherence to the current Molex PDP process while seeking opportunities for continuous improvements to the process.
  • Ensure proper resources are in place to support all internal R&D initiatives and customer NPI activities such as: developing concepts, costing and quoting, project management, production release (flawless launch), and 8D and corrective actions as needed to support customer needs.
  • Communicate/Collaborate with teams in Taiwan, Dongguan, Naperville, and Guadalajara to make sure NPI activities are completed on time to support customer timelines.
  • Identify risks/barriers to NPI projects and escalate as required to ensure issues are addressed to support NPI program timing.
  • Support corporate Project Fusion and drive team towards full adoption of Teamcenter. Generate Problem Reports and Change Requests in support of all engineering Change Orders and train project management to do the same.
  • Drive team toward full adoption of Polarion for use of Requirements management, design verification, and storage of test results for full traceability to show that designs fully meet the written requirements.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical).
  • 7-10 years of Design Engineering experience with an electro-mechanical background.
  • Familiarity with 2D and 3D CAD software for mechanical and electrical prints.
  • Experience with PCB or FPC layout and design.
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management and Requirements Management systems.
  • DFMEA experience.
  • This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship

What Will Put You Ahead
  • Masters in Business Administration with a Bachelor Degree in Engineering.
  • 3 years of supervisory experience of engineers and/or project managers.
  • Knowledge of Siemens NX, Altium, and AutoCAD.
  • Trained on Siemens Teamcenter/Polarion.
  • Deep knowledge of IPC standards.
  • Experience with Plato E1ns Software for DFMEA's.
