The Electronics Technician II position is a technical role within the R&D Engineering Department. The individual in this position is expected to contribute to the development of complex medical instruments by collaborating closely with R&D engineers to support the design, prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of various circuit boards and electromechanical sub-assemblies. This role involves exposure to a wide variety of tasks and technologies.

Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs) and identify underlying causes of failure.
  • Create and operate test fixtures to validate designs, perform acceptance testing, and gather reliability data.
  • Create appropriate documentation such as test reports, technical communications, change notices, and maintenance logs.
  • Assist electrical engineers with component selection and evaluation.
  • Assemble prototype PCBAs, cable harnesses, and instruments.
  • Additional support of R&D activities as assigned.


Position Requirements:
  • Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) and two or more years of experience (or equivalent training/experience).
  • Capability to read schematics and troubleshoot problems at the component level.
  • Strong attention to detail, self-motivation, and a proactive attitude.
  • Solid understanding of engineering principles and history of hands-on experience.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate well with peers and management.
  • Proficiency in the use of laboratory test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators, etc.).

Desired experience, skills and qualifications:
  • Competency soldering, assembling cable harnesses, and repairing circuit boards.
  • Familiarity with ECAD tools (Altium preferred).
  • Knowledge of programming or scripting languages.
  • Experience in a regulated industry (pharmaceutical, medical device, aerospace and defense, etc.).
