JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position is a 1.0 FTE located at Claremont Immersion School.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to work effectively as a team member with colleagues.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Familiarity with APS English Learner program models and assessment procedures for english learner students.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Teaching experience in the above mentioned areas

  • Knowledge of best instructional practices

  • Ability to integrate technology

  • Experience in educational and instructional leadership

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.
  • Elementary Education endorsement.
  • English as a Second Language PreK-12 certification required.
  • Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education is preferred but not required.
  • Educate, plan, teach, facilitate, and evaluate Multilingual Learners in English Language Development (ELD) and cultural orientation as defined by local and state department regulations and guidelines. Provide instruction in English Language Development as well as content area(s) in accordance with each student's ability; create a classroom environment that fosters student learning and personal growth. Establish effective working relationships with students and parents and work collaboratively with other staff members. Administer grade-level testing. Participate in PLC's.
