Position Overview: As an EL Teacher, you will deliver high-quality educational services aligned with facility standards and State and Federal regulations. Your role will encompass assessment, instruction, classroom management, documentation, consultation, program development, and resident supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Tailor Instructional Strategies: Develop and implement instructional strategies tailored to students' strengths and learning styles, with a focus on LEP plans.
  • Utilize Research-Based Methodologies: Apply research-based methodologies to facilitate effective learning experiences.
  • Create a Positive Learning Environment: Maintain a positive and productive learning environment by implementing the North Spring Behavioral Program.
  • Behavior Management: Manage patient behaviors in crisis situations according to our Behavioral Management Program.
  • Assess Academic Progress: Assess students' academic progress using qualitative and quantitative data to enhance instructional planning and achievement.
  • Coordinate Testing : Serve as the school test coordinator for WiDA ACCESS for ELLs 2.0.
  • Engage Students: Utilize the Virginia Standards of Learning and our curriculum to plan and deliver impactful EL instruction. -
  • Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data to track EL students' academic progress and provide feedback to students and parents.
  • Foster a Safe Environment: Foster a respectful and safe learning environment for EL students.
  • Professional Development: Participate in professional development and attend staff meetings as requested by the school principal.
  • Exemplary Professionalism : Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions with students, staff, parents, and agency personnel, serving as a role model for students.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Holds or is eligible for a Virginia teaching license, with an endorsement in ESL PreK-12.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of subject content, curriculum, and effective teaching methodologies. -
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships with students, peers, administrators, and parents. -
  • Current driver's license with a good driving record, CPR certification, First Aid Certificate, and Crisis Management Certification.
