Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day records requests and records email communications. Updates records request log, tracks processing status and ensures compliance with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. Documents and organizes all forms and letters central to records requests, enrollment, registration, and graduation. Verifies information and prepares documentation for state Boards of Bar Examiners, including Dean's certifications. And compiles a biannual Certificate of Dean spreadsheet for all candidates sitting for the Florida Bar Exam.
  • Maintains student academic records, facilitates registration and class enrollment. Processes partially ungraded option requests and completes graduation/certificate checks. Supports course scheduling and grading process. And evaluates academic records regarding transfer credit, academic standing, and graduation.
  • Compiles data and reports on book award recipients, and students selected for journal write-on and grade-on. Responds to a variety of data requests from other offices. Responsible for all correspondence concerning the election of recent graduates to Order of the Coif, a national legal honor society.
  • Counsels students on policies and procedures related to registration including, but not limited to, drop/add, withdrawals, course load modification, graduation and other related matters. Assists with events and programs hosted by the College of Law Registrar's Office, as well as various law school events such as Commencement and Orientations. And assists the College of Law Registrar with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree and one year of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and five years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred.
  • Applicants must have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; to work independently and prioritize work so that deadlines are met; and to maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers, supervisors, and interdepartmental personnel.
  • Applicants must be familiar with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat or similar software. Knowledge of proper office procedures and etiquette, and the ability to use standard office equipment, are essential. Advanced Excel and/or database skills are also preferred.

Anticipated Salary Range

The anticipated starting salary for this position is in the range of mid high $30,000's and low $40,000's, commensurate with experience and education.
