The Enterprise Network Systems Administrator (or Network Administrator) (ENSA) works under the direction of a Principal Network Systems Administrator (PNSA) Supervisor who manages and oversees all aspects of work for the Enterprise Network. The ENSA' job is to make sure that company networks align with business goals and objectives as well as the ability to problem solve and think critically. The ENSA is responsible for overseeing an organization's computer systems or database networks to ensure proper maintenance and security. The ENSA applies their information technology expertise to their employer's computer systems. The ENSA duties include working with other network professionals and IT staff to update cyber security measures, install hardware or software devices and troubleshoot problems. The ENSA also works with company employees to identify network or computer system needs, overseeing the installation of new hardware or software and using employee feedback to isolate issues. The ENSA is responsible for maintaining computer networks and systems including software, mainframes, VPNs, routers and other physical hardware; installing and configuring network equipment to update or fix hardware or software issues; updating virus protection software to keep data and communications protected; monitoring computer systems to improve network performance for computer systems and networks; communicating networking issues to other employees and management, especially in training new users; and fixing software and hardware configuration issues for users on-demand or from inspection of the systems. The ENSA may also be responsible for creating instruction manuals for employees to navigate company networks.

The following technology skill sets are required to perform in this classification: Cisco ATA, Cisco ACI, Cisco APIC, Cisco Prime, Cisco VoIP Call Manager, CACTI, eCloud, Elastic Search, ITM, Open NMS, nGenius, McAfee; MVISION, NetScout, SCOM; UTR; StruxureWare, SecureWorks WAF (WAN App FW) toolset, Wireshark, & Web CTRL.

Must have a minimum of five (5) years of broad knowledge of networking services and common networking protocols, have computer proficiency and understanding of various types of hardware, and increasingly responsible Information Technology skills to include Cisco competencies; must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience within the last four (4) in the capacity of a Network Systems Administrator or similar role; must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience within the last four (4) years in a security monitoring role.

Requires the possession of a bachelor's degree in an IT-related or Computer Science field. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Firewall engineering and operations with primary experience in Cisco FWs Daily tasks include configuring, managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Cisco ASA and FirePower firewalls Experience in configuring, managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting ACLs, S2S VPNs, BGP connections, IPSec, routing, optimizing/tuning, etc. in multi-context mode Experience using Command Line Interface (CLI) for most tasks Experience using the Firewall Management Console (FMC) Configures, manages, maintains, and troubleshoots Cisco FirePower Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPSs) Works with the Datacenter Engineers and Security teams to add routes, troubleshoot complex networking issues, make recommendations on configurations, etc.

Additional Information:

This position focuses on both data center firewall engineering and operations, and the secure deployment and monitoring of these environments. The ideal candidate will be very comfortable administering Cisco infrastructure including both CLI and FMC interfaces to accomplish their goals. Due to the complexity and volume of the County's network, the ideal candidate will be comfortable working in fast-paced critical support systems environments, and will have the ability to quickly learn and adapt to unfamiliar technologies or situations.
