The role you'll contribute:

The Enterprise Network Technical Project Lead is responsible for serving as the primary contact for all projects requiring resources from the Enterprise Network teams. The technical areas include route/switch, security, and wireless technologies. Technical knowledge needed by the Enterprise Network Technical Project Lead include: Cisco ACL, Cisco Meraki, Cisco DNA Center, Cisco Prime, Cisco Catalyst, Cisco Nexus, Cisco Fabric Path, Cisco Firepower, Palo Alto Firewall, Panorama, IDS, IPS, Silver Peak SD-WAN Optimization, NetBrain, LiveAction, and Wireless Flex Connect. The position also requires an understanding of in areas of LAN/WAN technologies, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, Spanning Tree, SDN, SDA, and Software Defined Networking. The position also responsible for the coordination of cross-functional teams in relation to the deployment and support of the network infrastructure, which includes technologies such as VMWare, Linux, Windows Server, physical servers, storage arrays, and voice applications.

The Enterprise Network Technical Project Lead is also responsible for the administration of Demand and Capacity, Project, and Portfolio Management for projects requiring resources from the Enterprise Network teams. This involves the in-depth understanding of the requirements provided by the organizations project office. Last, the position will demand of building and maintaining strategic relations with Leadership, business, clinical and construction groups that interact with the Enterprise Network teams. These relationships are critical for the overall alignment and success in achieving organizational goals.

Examples of the administrative responsibilities for the Enterprise Network Technical Project Lead include, but are not limited to the following:

• Business Acumen - Participate in both learning and sharing business related knowledge that will better enable the team in the support of critical business, clinical, construction, and infrastructure systems.

• Change Control - Adhere and follow all change management policies to ensure that the work is documented and meets the organizational requirements. This includes the creation, submission, review, and periodic representation of complex changes in the weekly change management meetings.

• Collaboration - Participate in business planning meetings to understand and recommend the best technical, most cost-effective, network solutions that meet initial capacity, long-term scalability and growth, and performance requirements.

• Personal Development - Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending training, seminars, reviewing professional publications, and studying for relevant certifications.

• Process Improvement - Review and enforce established processes related to project support with the Network Analyst team. Adjust or develop new project related processes where needed within the team to help or align with the project and organization requirements.

• Resource Planning - Coordinate with the team Leadership in planning, prioritization, and requesting of resources based on the priorities of the team, region and organization.

• Status Reports - Submit weekly status reports to the team Leadership that provide a high-level summary of projects, support and administrative topics.

• Vendor Management - Where applicable, build and maintain successful vendor relationships that help the team and organization identify and deploy the best technical solutions needed to meet a project or organizational goal.

Project and Portfolio

The project responsibilities of the Enterprise Network Technical Project Lead include:

• Business Knowledge - Maintain a high-level of business knowledge and working relationships that are vital to the success of the project or portfolio.

• Demand and Capacity Management - Monitor resource capacities for the Network Team resources. For internally driven projects, adjust resource capacities as needed to ensure that resources are not under or over utilized. Work directly with project owners for externally led projects to adjust resources appropriate for each project. Provide resource estimates, based on forecasting, to leadership of current resources do not meeting project demands.

• Metrics and Reporting - Updates to project documentation and within MSPO including resource allocations, project change requests, issues, risks, milestones and deliverables, providing both formal and ad hoc reports and presentations.

• Project Coordination - Manage multiple projects, either internally driven or coordinated with assigned external project owners, from moderate to highly complex, with enterprise-wide impact or requiring a business transformational change.

• Project / Program Planning - Responsible for developing the project/program management plan including the communications, estimated costs, resource requirements, equipment procurement, scope development, timelines, and stakeholder management.

• Project Change Management - Proactively manages change to a project scope, schedule and budget. Works with vendors

• Project Schedule Management - Work with subject matter experts to define a work breakdown structure. Once completed, create the project schedule identifying predecessors, dependencies, and critical path. Work with resource managers, develop the level of effort estimates and coordinate the assignment of resources. Work with vendors to align the project schedule and ensure predecessors, dependencies, and milestones are known to all impacted.

• Scope Management -Develop the project scope or work in collaboration with the assigned project owner to define the scope, detailing the project/program scope statement, what is in scope, what is out of scope, the key milestones, deliverables, timelines, and criteria for success.

• Resource Management - Work directly with the Leadership of the Network Teams in the assignment of technical resources needed to support projects involving the Network Teams. Provide estimates to project owners and Leadership if additional resources are needed, including full-time or contract level resources.

• Stakeholder Management - Identify stakeholders, determine their stake and impact in the project, and manage to their expectations. Communicate the status and issues to all stakeholders, including C-Level management.

Network and Technical

The technical knowledge of the Enterprise Network Technical Project Lead includes:

• Application Architecture - Provide technical guidance and project coordination for the implementation and upgrades of enterprise applications.

• Lifecycle Management - Assist in the planning process, including project timelines, for the scheduled refresh and network version upgrades of existing systems. The project plans should incorporate both short-term and long-term technical objectives, along with analysis on capacity, performance and security considerations. Work with the different Network Teams, including procurement, in the collaboration of projects that include the deployment of new equipment and refresh of existing equipment. (i.e. facility refresh projects)

• Network Infrastructure Planning - Work with the Network Teams, as well as other cross-functional technical teams, in the planning, design, documentation, and deployment of network related equipment that supports the overall success of facility or enterprise-wide projects.

• Network Infrastructure Procurement - Using information gathered from project owners, in conjunction with technical details obtained working directly with the Network Teams, request, submit, monitor delivery status, and verify delivery of network related equipment to ensure that project timelines are met as scheduled.

• Security Policies - Work closely with team Leadership, to plan, support and monitor that all security initiatives and policies are being met in the planning and deployment phases of a network project.

• Standards Documentation and Review - Review, support and enforce the standards and policies developed by the Enterprise Network Engineering team.

Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed :

Must have experience coordinating and managing projects in an Agile environment.

Must have experience coordinating and managing projects in Jira and ServiceNow.

Must have a foundational technical understanding of compute, network, and storage technologies.

Technical understanding must be sufficient to translate business projects into technical requirements and resourcing.

Must be able to function as a technical liaison between technical teams and non-technical project leaders and stakeholders.

Must be comfortable managing multiple technical projects from inception through delivery.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED :

• Proven skills in the coordination and assignment of team resources for enterprise level technical projects.

• Proven skills in the collaboration with team Leadership, the Leadership of other cross-functional teams, and the technical teams in the planning, coordination, and deployment of enterprise level technical projects. This includes the facilitation of weekly and ad-hoc project meetings.

• Proven skills in the management of technical projects in a method that utilizes the principles of project and portfolio management.

• Proven skills with Cisco platforms such as Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, Firepower and Palo Alto Firewalls in a production environment.

• Proven skills with Network Operating Systems such as Catalyst, Nexus, Linux and Windows systems.

• Proven skills in providing guidance, mentorship and development of team of technical employee.

• Proven skills verbal and written communication skills and experience interacting with both business and IT individuals at all levels including the executive level.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:

• Experience and/or certification in ITIL Service Management Framework.

• Experience and/or certification in the disciplines of Project Management.

• Experience with scheduling, producing and understanding the results of wireless surveys.

• Experience with working with construction teams and project managers in the planning and implementing I.T. services for new construction builds.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• B.A. or B.S in degree such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or Information Technology or 5 years of related experience.

• Minimum of 3 years in the support of an enterprise network platform in a 24x7 environment, including platforms such as Wireless, Security and Route Switch.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in supporting network infrastructure platforms such as wireless Flex Connect, VPN, Content filtering, Data Center, Nexus, Catalyst and management.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in providing project management support for technical projects in a complex and dynamic environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

• Experience working in a healthcare environment.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:

• Certification in the ITIL Service Framework.

• Certification in a project related methodology.

• Certification in a current or the latest version of an enterprise version of Cisco Administration.
