Enterprise Test Automation Architect

We are currently seeking an Enterprise Test Automation Architect to join our team.

This position is responsible for leading QE test automation initiatives and serving as a technical facilitator in the Quality Engineering (QE) organization. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop and implement automated test strategies, frameworks, and tools, assess current testing processes, and identify areas for improvement. This role involves developing scalable automation solutions, staying updated on emerging technologies, and continually enhancing the automation framework and testing processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the development and implementation of automation strategies in alignment with Quality Engineering goals, collaborating with QE leadership, and SDETs.
  • Provides technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the quality engineering team on test automation best practices, code quality standards, tools, and technologies.
  • Designs and develops an architecturally sound and robust framework to support comprehensive testing needs.
  • Champions and brings a quality-first strategy and collaborates in overall automation efforts, influencing direction, effort, and prioritization.
  • Oversees and coaches the teams in executing automation initiatives at an enterprise scale.
  • Assesses and refines current test architectures and frameworks to improve the reusability, scalability, and maintainability of test scripts.
  • Spearheads innovative approaches, technologies, and techniques in test automation to enhance testing efficiency.
  • Demonstrates technical expertise to influence project teams and ITS leadership, staying updated on the latest test automation trends for proposing improvements.
  • Collaborates with DevOps and project teams to streamline the CI/CD process and ensures seamless integration of automation scripts.
  • Performs analyses to solve complex problems and inspires teams to produce creative solutions to assist testing.
  • Establishes and maintains reporting mechanisms and metrics for test automation effectiveness, efficiency, and quality, supporting data-driven decision-making.
  • Maintains documentation for frameworks, processes, tools, and infrastructure to ensure clarity and continuity.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, a related discipline, or four years of related work experience is required.
  • Seven to ten years of work experience with software development and test automation is required.
  • Experience with building scalable test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, TestIM, Playwright) is required.
  • Experience with different types of automated testing (e.g., Functional, Behavior Driven, Integration, Contract, End-to-End) is required.
  • Experience with version control and continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines is required
  • Experience in developing automation capabilities and accelerators aimed at minimizing test cycles is required.
  • Experience with the following: Azure DevOps, Visual Studio, Git, and Agile methodology is required.
  • Experience working in the human resources or payroll industries is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of web, mobile, API, and SQL technologies.
  • Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages (C#, Java, Python).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
