Position Summary

Environmental Coordinators will support environmental compliance and programs for retail stores and assist with environmental compliance for Distribution Centers as needed.

The qualified candidate must be an effective leader with knowledge of hazardous and non-hazardous waste and environmental regulations, excellent communication and negotiation skills, strong decision-making ability, detail-oriented and must be able to work independently and excel in a fast -paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Annually create, review, and update hazardous waste business plans for California stores in CERS (California Environmental Reporting System)
Maintain operating status of all environmental permits and licensing compliance requirements
Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local ordinances and guidelines.
Completes paperwork, recordkeeping, or monitoring required for filing for and getting approval of recycling exemptions.
Create environmental work orders for oil and blood spills, mold, and asbestos clean u
Interact directly and maintain effective working relationships with business owners, management companies, customers, and regulators.
Monitor compliance of state mandates
Research municipality regulations and interpret independent mandates
Work with Community Relations for special events/projects when appropriate
Oversee vendor onboarding using the OneTrust program
Account manager for emergency response program, identify trends and design training to assist AutoZoners in spill management

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) or equivalent experience required, preferably in recycle coordination, environmental management, business administration or project management preferred
One to three years' experience in Environmental Management, environmental consulting or regulatory compliance
Strong use of Microsoft Office
Successful experience managing Environmental compliance programs
Travel to meetings and stores as necessary
Ability to pass pre-employment Background and MVR Check
Ability to travel up to 60% of the time
