Minimum Qualifications:
Four years of experience in technician work in aeronautical, chemical, civil, electrical, environmental, mechanical, or sanitary engineering technology; environmental technology; geology or geology technology; or as a surveyor or a drafter;
OR
graduation from high school and one year of qualifying experience;
OR
graduation from a high school technical education program in aeronautics, architectural drafting, chemistry, electricity, electronics, mechanical design and construction, technical structural drafting and design, technical instrumentation and control systems, or computer circuitry;
OR
18 college semester credit hours in any combination of the following: engineering, geology, environmental science, natural or physical science, drafting, mathematics, or surveying.

Preferred Qualifications:
Highly motivated and organized. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with computers and knowledgeable of various software programs including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Duties Description The incumbent will assist with the operation of the Bureau's Pesticide Product Registration Section's registration program, including application receipt and review, and associated data entry. More specific duties will include receiving, reviewing and maintaining electronic and paper files which include pesticide product labels, letters and documents; assisting with the transition of paper to electronic files; assisting with the review and revision of the Bureau's webpage and regulations; assisting with the coordination of CleanSweepNY events; providing technical assistance to pesticide registrants and users, including application and interpretation of pesticide laws and regulations; reviewing and receiving pesticide product registration applications; entering all application and product information in NYSPAD system.

Additional Comments Must be able to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds. Telecommuting may be available, will be discussed at interview.

This is a hourly appointment currently funded through 3/31/2025, with a likelihood of continuing beyond that date. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date.
