Job Summary

Works under supervision of Department Director to provide essential leadership to department team members while managing operational workflow to deliver the highest quality service and results to our patients, visitors, and customers.

Experience and Education
  • High School Diploma/GED Required. Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required.
  • Two years of experience in Environmental Services Leadership within Healthcare Industry required
Job Duties
  • Manage and coordinate daily operations of department throughout the facility by monitoring daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly data and trends; communicating results and possible solutions to leadership.
  • Maintains internal and external customer satisfaction by rounding on/with patients, department managers and customers.
  • Analyze and plan schedules and programs ensuring the best use of equipment and resources available to attain and maintain the highest level of quality service is delivered.
  • Tours facility regularly providing leadership, training, support and guidance to ensure that quality standards and service expectations are met and to determine that best practices are followed.
  • Recommends and implements strategic plans or LEAN process improvements to maintain operational or quality improvements.
  • Provide input to Director with regard to budgetary goals, expenditures and cost savings initiatives; aide in preparing budgetary recommendations.
  • Manages various personnel functions, including but not limited to: Hiring, promoting, and maintaining accurate records of team members' performance, training and schedules.
  • Promotes growth and development of employees by participating and/or assisting with development of new and refresh training programs.
  • Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field in an effort to enhance expertise and quality of services provided through continuous improvement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational and time management skills necessary.
  • Extensive knowledge of Environmental Services processes and procedures in accordance with Hospital policies as well as Local, State, and Federal Regulations.
  • Knowledge of Environmental Services and Laundry Services, Infection (Control/Prevention) Safety and Sanitation requirements and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Software, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Working Conditions
  • Work is performed in a highly customer focused, clinical care environment.
  • Administrative responsibilities performed within collaborative office spaces.
  • The daily responsibilities of the position will require constant physical activity including but not limited to walking, standing, pushing/pulling of carts, and occasional lifting of items weighing up to approximately 50lbs.
  • Employees should be able to be flexible to work nights weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Healthcare is a 24/7 industry, although we provide consistent scheduling the needs of the business can be impacted by emergent situations or a general change over time which can require scheduling to be adjusted.
  • Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents in lieu of stated minimum require prior approval of Vice President for Human Resources Administration or his/her designee.
