Job Summary:

The Environmental Service Tech (EVS Tech) is responsible for cleaning all areas of the Hospital, The EVS Tech will follow required protocols relating to cleanliness, use of chemical cleaning products and safety and equipment use.

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent Required

High school graduate or equivalent required:

Prior healthcare experience a MUST.

Floor Care experience a plus.

Must be able to work independently and be a self-starter,

What you will do (Roles and Responsibilities):

  • Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner in order to reflect the highest integrity of the Environmental Services Department.
  • Performs routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators and stairways in a clean, neat and sanitary manner.
  • Utilizes the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
  • Uses and maintains equipment properly.
  • Assists visitors with directions whenever requested.
  • Reports safety hazards as appropriate.
  • Transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area.
  • Follows all infection control practices including hand washing techniques, Standard Precautions and isolation precautions.
  • Adequately stocks patient care units with linen.
  • Maintains set quality standards when performing job duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Uses and maintains equipment properly.
