  • Cooperate with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of the company's commitment to a safe working environment.
  • Performs a variety of duties relating to the safe, effective and productive operations and maintenance of construction equipment utilized in MKC concrete construction projects
  • Operates and maintains various types of equipment including, but limited to, the following:
    • Backhoe
    • Truck
    • Ski Loader
    • Mini Ex
    • Track Hoe and Track Loader
    • Laser
    • Snow plow, broom and blade
  • Assists other team members with various job-related tasks when not operating equipment; reads construction plans and performs a variety of skilled construction and maintenance tasks, as directed.
  • Actively supports communications and relationship building activities with owners, suppliers, General Contractor, other subcontractors, etc.; assists in building trust and confidence by exhibiting professional, competent and friendly image.
  • Proactively, professionally and with a team-focused attitude collaborates and communicates with construction site teams, management and supervisory personnel and team members throughout the company to integrate activities and achieve goals.
  • Complies with established company operating policies and procedures in order to maintain adequate controls and to support the adherence to outside regulatory requirements.
  • Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of sexual harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the work place.
  • Responds to inquiries or requests relating to his/her particular area within given time frames and within established policy.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
In depth understanding of M-K safety policies and practices, including potential occupational hazards, supporting a committed safety culture and safe working environment; basic reading, writing, and grammar skills; basic mathematical skills and analytical skills sufficient to read and interpret maps, sketches, drawings, specifications and technical manuals; proficient skills in operating and maintaining construction power equipment and performing various skilled construction tasks; collaborative and generative attitudes and abilities toward working as part of a team, but also work independent of direct supervision; visual and auditory skills; valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the job site; knowledge of traffic laws, ordinances and rules pertaining to construction equipment operations.
Education / Experience:
  • A High School Diploma or GED; specialized training in construction equipment operations and maintenance; must possess a valid MD Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) of the appropriate class
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in construction equipment operations and equipment maintenance positions.

  • Wide variety of construction-Related Machinery, equipment and tools
  • Telephone and other technology related to the performance of the duties of an Equipment Operator
