(role designed for a student currently enrolled in nursing school)

Responsibilities:
  • Perform ADLs (bathing, feeding, transporting, toileting, ambulating, turning and repositioning patients).
  • Conduct point of care testing (e.g., blood glucose), take weights, vital signs, I&O, telemetry monitor application/reapplication.
  • Provide quality patient care, assist with therapies, and report changes to RN.
  • Document in the medical record as per procedures.
  • Achieve competency in advanced skills such as phlebotomy/venipuncture, peripheral IV removal, Foley catheter removal, basic arrhythmia, 12 lead EKG, and NG tube management.


Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Enrollment in a Nursing Program to gain RN license
Prior EMT or ER experience strongly preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
  • OAPSA
