Job Summary

Information and Technology Services (ITS) is looking for a Senior ERP Business System Analyst to join the Enterprise Application Services team (EAS) with in ITS. We are seeking a seasoned Senior ERP Business System Analyst with expertise in PeopleSoft ERP Systems to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will lead projects, continue work on teams? operations including Production support, System upgrades, and participate in strategic planning efforts. This role requires a deep understanding of ERP systems, strong project management skills, and the ability to make independent decisions that impact operations.

Responsibilities*

Production Support:
  • Provide daily operations and tier 2/3 support for applications, coordinating with team members, service support groups, and vendors.
  • Solve or escalate incidents and requests, ensuring timely and efficient resolutions.
  • Advise users on handling sensitive data and IT security policies and procedures.

Service Improvement:
  • Identify and quantify customer requirements for service enhancement projects. Collaborate with stakeholders to define business needs, balance requirements, and develop cost-effective solutions.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of assigned products and business areas.
  • Utilize business process mapping (BPM) to define current and future state processes and develop workflow models.
  • Collect, interpret, and use data to understand requirements, testing needs, and develop solutions.
  • Develop and edit customer and technical support knowledge base documentation, ensuring accuracy and comprehensiveness.
  • Build strong relationships through effective communication and active listening.


Project Management:
  • Lead service enhancement projects from request through implementation and release. Perform project management duties, including resource allocation, time estimation, and contingency planning.
  • Engage in strategic planning to set technical direction for the department.
  • Make independent decisions to impact operations positively, ensuring projects align with business objectives.
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively for timely project completion.
  • Proactively anticipate and resolve problems while creating conditions and processes to support change.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of ERP principles, practices, standards, technologies, and procedures.


Development of Self and Others:
  • Stay updated with relevant technological advances through training, attending courses, and research.
  • Develop and share best practices and procedures with team members.
  • Mentor and train less experienced staff, enhancing team knowledge and skills.

Required Qualifications*
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.
  • Minimum of four years of experience in a related role requiring confidentiality, customer service, organization, prioritization, and troubleshooting.
  • Proven ability to lead project teams and meet customer expectations.
  • Knowledge of systems development methodologies (including waterfall and iterative approaches).
  • Proficient in business systems analysis, design, and system testing.
  • Skilled in gathering, translating, prioritizing, and documenting system requirements.
  • Proficient in data analysis and process modeling tools and techniques.

Desired Qualifications*
  • Previous experience working with PeopleSoft enterprise software or other finance ERP applications.
  • Supply chain business process expertise.
  • Experience working in a higher education setting.
  • Previous experience with PeopleSoft Accounts Payable, Procurement, and Supplier Management.
  • Experience with automated testing/quality assurance tools.
  • Experience with SQL and integrations (APIs).
  • Experience working on integration tools or IPaaS tools.
  • Experience with business process re-engineering methodologies.

Work Schedule:

Flexible work arrangements are available. The position is mainly hybrid and may require attendance at meetings in Ann Arbor, MI, necessitating some days on-site due to the collaborative nature of the team. These details can be worked out with the hiring manager.
