EVS Housekeeping Tech-Lead

HOURS: Days and hours vary. Some weekend work required.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Environmental Service Tech-Lead is an active member of the Environmental Service team that provides leadership and guidance to the housekeeping department. Delivers professional cleaning services consistent with the strategic vision, goals, philosophy, and direction of the Environmental Services Department. The Environmental Service Tech-Lead cleans and services assigned areas following established schedules and prescribed methods.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides leadership and guidance to departmental personnel.
• Maintains a current inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Makes recommendations to the Environmental Services Director for changes in supplies, equipment or procedures to improve safety and patient care or to reduce costs.
• Monitors linen usage and reviews statistics with the Environmental Services Director.
• Schedules personnel for proper coverage of the facility.
• Ensures that patient care units are adequately stocked with linen.
• Ensures that quality standards are met by inspecting completed work.
• Ensures all equipment is tested regularly.
• Investigates, documents and reports all unusual occurrences to the Environmental Services Director.
• Maintains records of orientation and in-service training programs.
• Assists the Environmental Services Director in completing performance evaluations.
• Performs routine cleaning in assigned areas following established schedules and prescribed methods.
• Cleans and services nurses' stations, patient rooms, restrooms, and offices.
• Cleans and dusts furniture and equipment.
• Cleans windows, empties trash baskets, and arranges furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion.
• Scours and polishes bathtubs, sinks, mirrors, and similar equipment.
• Replenishes supplies of soap and towels.
• Polishes and cleans doors and windows.
• Vacuums, dust mops, and wet mops all patient rooms and restrooms each day.
• Promotes team work daily, communicates and reports problems and concerns to the Manager.
• Performs other related job duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE:

• Work-related experience required.

EDUCATION:

• High school diploma or GED state certification or similar demonstrated ability preferred but not required.
