Job Summary:


  • The Executive Assistant position provides a variety of administrative support to the Chair and Program Leader in the Anesthesiology department. These functions require a high degree of competence, skill, and capability for independent action. This includes a demonstrated ability for sound judgment in decision-making when necessary.




  • The Executive Assistant resolves and completes complex administrative tasks that may include travel and itineraries, managing multiple schedules, facilitating/coordinating meetings and conference calls, and producing high quality meeting minutes and reports. This position is responsible for coordinating internal and external resources to fulfill the goals and objectives of the Chair and Program Leader in a timely and financially responsible manner.

The Ideal Candidate:


  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Thorough knowledge of the English grammar, punctuation and spelling as well as calendaring software packages

  • Experience in Windows environment on a PC

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook



Responsibilities:


  • Provides high level administrative support to Department Chair and all associated department/program activities

  • Resolves and completes complex administrative tasks that may include travel itineraries, manages schedules and calendar, facilitate/coordinate meetings, travel and conference calls

  • Independently resolves problems/conflicts in a manner requiring knowledge of policies, procedures and operations within the Chair's functional area of responsibility



Credentials and Qualifications:


  • High school diploma/GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of administrative experience in office setting. Preferred experience in healthcare, research and/or academic setting.

  • Preferred at least 2 years of administrative support experience at the executive level.
