THIS POSITION SHALL SERVE IN THE UNCLASSIFIED SERVICE AS OUTLINED IN

OHIO REVISED CODE (ORC) 124.11(A)(9).

The Ohio Board of Nursing is looking for a qualified individual to serve in the capacity as the Executive Assistant to the Director.

What You'll Do:

Serves as liaison between Executive Director & subordinates; transmits decisions & directives; represents Executive Director at meetings & conferences. Assists Executive Director by maintaining & tracking calendar of appointments, meetings & speaking engagements. May travel with Executive Director to various appointments.

Provides administrative support for board operations; assists with preparation of board meetings (e.g., prepares agenda, prepares reports to Board members, prepares public notices for all meetings, provides information to Board members & responds to questions); coordinates Board mailings between Board meetings; assists with completion of the official Board meeting minutes; handles public notices for all meetings; assists Board members with travel & accommodations; assists the Board in meeting reporting requirements (e.g., timely filing of Board financial disclosure statements). Records & approves hours worked & accurately recorded, approves & transmits to Human Resources.

Assists with executing communication strategies for departments within the Ohio Board of Nursing (e.g., social media posts, plans events, newsletters; updates website). May respond to public inquiries & questions.

Serves as back-up to fiscal operations (e.g., approves & processes vouchers for payment, creates purchase orders & proposals for open bids, receives shipments & provides accurate documentation); assists fiscal manager in budget preparation. Monitors & ensures that sufficient funds are maintained in appropriate spending authority codes; researches & analyzes transaction errors & resolves.

Performs other duties as assigned (e.g., answers phones, takes & delivers messages to appropriate personnel, makes photocopies, faxes correspondence & ensures appropriate processing of time sensitive documents & processes other agency related communications).

Qualifications
4 yrs. trg. or 4 yrs. exp. in business administration management science or public administration.

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management science or public administration; 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position.

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in academic field commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on file; 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position or staff position involving planning, research &/or policy/procedure development.

-Or 1 yr. exp. as Program Administrator 1, 63122.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above
