Executive Director, Business Management -Corporate & Investment Banking Finance

The Director, Business Management, collaborates with senior leaders throughout the organization to reach consensus on the viability of new services and initiatives and the assumptions and projections contained in a business plan. The incumbent presents to Senior leaders' key business performance metrics and develops financial forecasts to support development of plans and strategies.

  • Develops the company's long range strategic plans and identifies organization strengths, weaknesses and business opportunities.
  • Plans, develops, administers and reviews the company or division strategy.
  • Oversees the implementation of organization directives and policies and analyzes the company's economic, regulatory, market and competitive environment by conducting internal technical and financial analyses.
  • Supports the executive leadership team on any strategic matters and interacts with other lines of business and corporate divisions to develop a deep understanding of critical issues and manage high priority strategic initiatives.


Essential Functions/Responsibility Statements:

  • Identifies opportunities for increased operational efficiency and effectiveness by assembling teams to generate ideas and analyze opportunities arising thereof through to implementation.
  • Works closely with all lines of business in the development, design and implementation of management matrix for the organization.
  • Monitors, analyses and identifies opportunities that may significantly impact the Company and its business.
  • Drives teamwork and partnership with various lines of business throughout the organization to ensure a smooth implementation of organizational changes.
  • Conducts and supports appropriate data collection, market intelligence, and business analysis, and accesses internal and external subject matter expertise to drive business plan development.
  • Aligns business planning, analysis, and forecasting with capital and operating budgets, plans, and processes.
  • Ensures compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding of assets, compliance with Company policies and procedures, reliability of internal and external reporting, and efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
  • Develops professional and succinct financial projections.
  • Advances business plans and makes recommendations to senior management.

Education:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience: Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent field. Req

Work Experience:

12+ Years relevant experience in finance, business planning dept. and/or project management. Req

Responsibilities:

With focus on Cost Management & Control and Expenses Budgeting & forecasting you will be responsible for expense budgeting, forecasting and reporting along with managing cost controls including creating and delivering presentations to all levels of management.

Cost Management & Control:

  • Continuous monitoring of expenses through the SAP Orion ERP. Maintain up to date commitment items, and fund center structures that properly reflect organization's structure.
  • Monitor the implementation of policies and procedures related to capitalization of expenses, accruals, SLA's and cost allocations.
  • Collaborate with teams such as Procurement, Accounts payable and Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) ensuring third party vendor information meets the Santander required standards, oversight of related expenditures and simplify processes.
  • Provides operational support on current processes and supports business operations and management in identifying opportunities and solutions to meet current and future business needs.
  • Review CIB financial and management expense information produced by other areas (US GAAP and IFRS views), highlighting potential discrepancies and closing the gaps.
  • Validates information and liaises with other departments to document findings, propose alternatives and recommended actions.
  • Creates and maintains dashboards and presentations to monitor performance in various internal forums.
  • Frequently involved in special projects and ad-hoc reporting as needed.
  • Identifies and acts on the delivery of meaningful cost optimization opportunities.


Expenses Budgeting & forecasting:

  • Leads the annual expense budgeting processes partnering with key stakeholders: Line of businesses and support functions (Technology and Operations, Finance, Risk, Legal & Compliance, HR, Internal Audit,..)
  • Liaise with Financial Control department in the US, Europe, Latin America, and Asia, to coordinate various global projects, three-year strategic plans and forecasts.
  • Ensure that legal entity budgets are loaded appropriately in the corporate systems (SAP, Cosmos) with the right drivers and maximum level of granularity that allows proper analysis and challenge of main variances.
  • Actively collaborate in providing accurate forecast and other related financial information that is useful to a wide range of users in making economic decisions.
