Directs and leads the strategic development of the overall data platform and infrastructure and mentors the team of data engineers and cloud data architects. Owns the execution of functional strategies around development processes and expanding technology roadmap, planning features, measuring outputs, and ensuring quality products. Makes decisions using analytical insights from a variety of business contexts and communicates those complex insights effectively with senior leadership.

Qualifications:
Minimum Education
  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree in computer science, data analytics, software engineering, information technology, or related field. (Required)
Minimum Work Experience
  • 10+ years of related experience, including prior management experience or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position. (Required)
Required Skills/Knowledge
  • Knowledge of Agile software development; Scrum (Software development) Technical Support
  • Knowledge of extract, transform, load (ETL); SQL (programming language)
  • Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, cloud-based data processes, and business intelligence.

Functional Accountabilities
  • Directs a cohesive data engineering team responsible for the design and development of software and processes to support complex, large scale, and efficient data pipelines and optimizes the availability of data to generate insights and address business needs
  • Articulates and executes technical business goals and requirements into designs utilizing best practice design patterns and partner with engineering leads, product management, and design leads in shaping and guiding the technical direction of the data engineering team.
  • Owns and drives the planning, prioritization and execution of data production projects and processes and the activities of team of experienced data engineers responsible for developing software code that formats, tags, processes, stores and delivers data.
  • Builds and establishes the standards and processes required to ensure the delivery of high-quality data products.
  • Conducts code reviews and leads complex technical discussions, accountable for the maintenance agile processes and ceremonies for the data team.
  • Manages and overseas the automation of key ETL / ELT (extract / transform / load) and quality assurance processes for large volume of data and migrations of data and workloads.
  • Establishes and implements data governance, data quality, integrity, standards, master data management, metadata strategy, and business intelligence/analytics.
  • Make decisions on key technology choices for data pipelines to ensure that they are scalable, repeatable, secure, and can serve users at scale in the organization.
  • Contributes to key metrics of success for the data organization
  • Recruit, manage and develop data engineers and cloud data architects and leaders on the Data Engineering team
