Description

The Executive Director of Centralized Enrollment will be responsible for streamlining and unifying the various enrollment and school selection processes. This individual will ensure various school selection parameters are met and enrollment data is readily accessible to all decision-makers.

  • Serve as primary contact in the Centralized Enrollment Office for all student enrollment (PK - 12)
  • Design and facilitate the scope and sequence for a rigorous planning and design period for the creation and launch of a centralized enrollment process, to likely include, expert consultancies, and site visits
  • Design and manage the centralized application and selection process in which students can apply to the district's choice offerings
  • Identify and manage a cross-functional steering team to implement the centralized enrollment process
  • Track and maintain the movement of students incoming, outgoing, and within the district
  • Use current enrollment and projected student growth to model anticipated capacity needs to align those findings with the district's facilities utilization plan
  • Set up operational procedures and make necessary modifications on the basis of demographics, operations analysis and other research data
  • Identify, with the assistance of the Information Technology Department, a system that will provide a single, accurate source of student enrollment data
  • Identify potential problems or inconsistencies within prescribed procedures and assist in developing new procedures, as necessary
  • Participate in the selection, recruitment, and student admission process to provide recommendations when required
  • Develop and submit policies and procedures for codification that result in an effective and efficient planning process for enrollment procedures
  • Build capacity in relevant central staff departments to successfully support the enrollment process
  • Manage workstreams and utilize project management tools to achieve targeted outcomes
  • Promote high expectations for team members in an enabling, supportive manner
  • Involve key internal and external stakeholders in the planning process
  • Communicate with central employees to address questions, needs, engender support, and to ensure project success
  • Prepare high-quality deliverables (e.g., timelines, status reports, implementation plans, etc.) and ensure timely submission to appropriate personnel
  • Monitor the project budget to ensure the appropriate use of funds
  • Supervise and implement the Dallas ISD Special Programs student application process
  • Facilitate and oversee the development and submission of required Board documents
  • Create, prepare, provide and/or present pertinent and/or requested information to the Board of Trustees at Board Briefings, meetings, etc.
  • Facilitate the development and revisions of all board policies regarding magnet programs and enrollment procedures
  • Prepare and submit all reports and data regarding the implementation of magnet programs
  • Develop and implement a plan to create, review and revise magnet program assessment criteria, as necessary
  • Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Master's Degree required, in Education preferred
  • Mid-management certification required
  • Local knowledge of magnet school and other special program requirements and selection processes
  • Local knowledge of Dallas ISD enrollment process
  • Local knowledge of Dallas ISD schools, communities, and systems
  • Capable of broad, systems-level analytical thinking
  • Ability to think creatively from scratch and work collaboratively with others to implement new programs
  • Strong record of being a self-starter and taking initiative
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as strong research skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities with frequent interruptions
  • Ability to promote a positive, caring climate
  • Ability to effectively analyze problems, issues, and concerns and formulate appropriate alternative solutions
