Position Overview

Central Virginia Soccer seeks a visionary and strategic leader to join our team as the Executive Director . This critical role focuses on managing the organization's business operations, including finances, sponsorships, strategic development, and board engagement. The Executive Director will work closely with the Director of Coaching and other staff to ensure the organization's sustainability and growth, aligning our programs with our mission to promote soccer excellence in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Guide the organization's strategic planning and development, setting short-term and long-term goals in collaboration with the CVU board.

• Financial Management: Oversee the organization's financial health, including budgeting, financial planning, reporting, and monitoring cash flow. Ensure transparency and accountability in all financial transactions.

• Sponsorship and Fundraising: Develop and implement strategies to secure sponsorships, grants, and other fundraising opportunities to support the organization's activities and programs.

• Board Relations: Serve as the primary liaison to the CVU board, facilitating communication, preparing reports, and ensuring the board's decisions are implemented effectively.

• Operational Management: Oversee the organization's day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient resource use and alignment with strategic objectives.

• Community and Public Relations: Represent the organization in public forums, building relationships with community leaders, potential sponsors, and other stakeholders to enhance the organization's profile and impact.

• Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and maintain the organization's good standing. Oversee governance practices, policy development, and risk management strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Non-Profit Management, or a related field. An advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a senior management role, preferably in a non-profit or sports organization.

• Demonstrated ability in financial management, strategic planning, and organizational development.

• Proven track record in fundraising, sponsorship acquisition, and community engagement.

• Strong leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

• Understanding of the sports landscape, particularly soccer, is desirable.

• Flexibility to work full-time hours, including some evenings and weekends
