As part of the Office of Legal Services (OLS), Administrative Services & Legal and Technical Support Section, Legal and Technical Support Unit, the Staff Services Analyst (SSA) Executive Support Assistant serves as a personal and confidential administrative assistant to the Deputy Director and Chief Counsel (DD/CC) and the Deputy Chief Counsels. The SSA conducts detailed analytical research pertaining to legal assignments, reports, and issues; assesses administrative and technical issues and processes, with offered recommendations; drafts a multitude of documents; and acts as a case coordinator and source of technical support for the DD/CC and DCCs in the use of ProLaw. The SSA must possess an ability to interact independently, professionally, and courteously with Department Executives, managers, and staff while performing multiple tasks that are often confidential, sensitive, and include strict deadlines.

In this fast paced and dynamic environment, the incumbent will act with a high degree of initiative, independence and responsiveness. Assignments and tasks may be sensitive and/or confidential. The incumbent represents OLS in a professional manner, maintains a high level of discretion, and uses tact and good judgment. The incumbent must have strong time management and organizational skills; and the ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

Working Conditions
This position is located in the heart of downtown Sacramento, at 1501 Capitol Avenue, within walking distance to the CA State CapitolPark, several restaurants, farmers markets, community events, and public transportation. The incumbent may be required to move largeobjects from one location to another, and must be able to sit and/or stand for a long duration.

This position requires extensive use of a desktop/laptop computer, computer monitor, mouse, keyboard, and telephone throughout the day.Persons appointed to this position may be reasonably expected to bend, kneel, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 25 pounds.

This position is required to provide in-office coverage during the core business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and may participate in part time (office centered) telework in accordance with DHCS Telework Guidelines.
