Exercise Physiologist - Cardiac Rehab

Work location: Texas Health Ft. Worth, 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, TX 76104

• Candidate will have to float to the Texas Health Burleson and the Willow Park Cardiac Rehab sites, with Texas Health Ft. Worth being the primary site

Magnet-designated regional referral center that has served the residents of Tarrant County and surroundings communities since 1930.

Work hours: Full Time 36 hours per week, (3) 12-hour shifts 6:00AM-6:30PM Monday-Friday, self-scheduling, schedule varies. No Weekends, No Holidays and No Call Requirements.

Here's What You Need

Master's degree Exercise Science or related field (Kinesiology) required

• One (1) year Cardiac Rehab experience

• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required

• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required within 90 days of hire

• CCES - Certified Clinical Exercise Specialist Upon Hire Preferred OR

• RCEP - Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist Upon Hire Preferred.

• Computer Experience necessary (use EPIC charting).

• Telemetry monitoring experience.

What You Will Do

The Exercise Physiologists are responsible for overseeing that each patient has an appropriate exercise prescription each day, supervising exercise theory sessions to assure each patient is performing exercises correctly and at the prescribed level and assessing patients during exercise sessions and counsel for risk reduction.

  • utilize multidisciplinary staff appropriately
  • provide exercise instruction of special needs other than cardiac (i.e., low back/orthopedic).
  • develop plan of action for post discharge.
  • maintain and close-out patient charts.
  • write progress letters/reports for insurance company to receive benefits or extension of benefits.
  • actively participate in formal and informal teaching and evaluation to strengthen clinical competence of self and team members.
