Overview

84 Lumber is seeking an Experienced Designer to join the design team at our newly expanded component facility In Powhatan, VA

Required Skills and Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in designing Roof & Floor Trusses, and/or Wall panels- (S ingle-family or Multi-family design)
• Broad knowledge of engineering fundamentals, wood truss roof and floor design and building materials.
• Experience with design software, including MiTek. (SE experience a plus)
• Request sealed engineering drawings and/or repair details and follow up.
• Strong visualization skills and ability to picture complex conditions in wood structures from plans and specifications.
• Effectively communicate with architects, engineers, customers and fellow team members.
• Be able to thrive in a collaborative work environment

Responsibilities:

• Reading architectural prints to create truss placement layouts
• Design roof and floor trusses in engineering software
• Other design support related tasks
