The Impact You Will HaveThe Expert Underwriting Technician is responsible for providing efficient and high-quality underwriting administration services to brokers/clients, and underwriters. Coordinate across offshore Account Technicians, Claims Handlers, Risk Engineers, Credit Controlling and other internal support teams. Team responsibilities including, but not limited to mentoring & training UTs, reporting, exception management of accounts and referrals, network communication, process improvement, project support, UAT for system enhancements, acting as a Product Owner where applicable as part of the role. Provide expert level knowledge with regards to systems, processes and keep abreast of new guidelines published.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
  • Partnering with regional underwriters and/or more senior UW to support employees in the end-to-end processing of new and renewal business and assists with quality control of the most complex policies.
  • Evaluating new and renewal submissions against prescribed criteria to determine completeness.
  • Participate in all post-binding and servicing activities.
  • Responsible for supporting UW production by reviewing and interpreting source underwriting materials regarding completeness of required information.
  • Support multiple Senior UWs with both new business and renewal portfolio profiles.
  • Independently review and handle more complex policy maintenance items, without support from UW.
  • Assist with training and oversight of less experienced support staff.
  • Communicates and collaborates across the organization to provide solutions/recommendations to achieve organizational success.
  • Acting as SME for resolving queries and ensuring complete and accurate handling of the account from GBO.
  • Assumes an active role in the implementation of Target Operating Model
  • Being an ambassador for new AGCS strategy enabling change with positive attitude, guiding others, providing feedback and lead by example. This role requires a strong collaboration spirit that is applied along the value chain globally and cross functional.
  • In alignment with business priorities, identify and drive business improvement opportunities relating to organization, business processes, organizational capabilities, and business IT applications.
  • Support any IT development efforts as a subject matter expert.
  • Complete all delegated projects in the manner expected and requested by the Manager.


What You'll Bring to the Role
  • 7+ years' experience in Commercial or Specialty insurance, preferably client servicing;
  • 7+ years' experience in account management and ability to coordinate with other functions;
  • 7+ years' experience working in a cross-cultural environment with strong collaboration skills and ability to motivate others to achieve common goals.;
  • Advance understanding of policy administration life cycle, relevant products, wordings, terms and conditions and coverages;
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills;
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills; and
  • Effective team player


The annualized base pay range for this role is $77,795 to $133,436. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
