Airswift has been tasked by one of our major Oil and Gas clients to seek a Facilities Engineer to work on an initial 12-month contract in Midland, TX or Carlsbad, NM possibly to be extended!

The Facilities Engineering Job Family develops and deploys general process engineering expertise across both projects and operations. Key capabilities include concept screening and selection, facility design and optimization, project engineering leadership, and facilities surveillance and improvement.
This job role description is meant to convey the generic responsibilities and target skill proficiencies of an early to mid career Facilities Engineer. An individual in this role may be responsible for the development and design of local site/asset projects, surveillance and optimization of operating facilities, or project and operations support from any of the technical centers. This Job Role is intended to be used by Individuals embedded within an operating asset/site or providing global Facilities Engineering support from a central organization.

Key Accountabilities:
Operations Support
  • Support Asset Leadership, Operation and Engineering Teams on optimization strategies, facilities modification and engineering and operational risk based decisions.
  • Develop resolution plans for facilities performance deficiencies, bottlenecks and integrity issues.
  • Lead and develop strategies for real-time or long term facilities/process optimization analysis and monitoring of key variables driving profitability.
  • Lead and act as asset SME for troubleshooting and facility incident investigations efforts.
  • Lead or support project development of local site projects while incorporating Process Safety Engineering Principles.
  • Manage changes to Heat & Material Balances, Process Flow Diagrams, and P&IDs for the entire facility or for specific modifications.
  • Drive and participate in optimization studies, field verifications, and early equipment sizing.
  • Participate, lead or advise in field-based activities to support systems completion, turnover, and start-up.
  • Mentor less experienced facilities engineers.
Projects Support
  • Support Stage 1 through Stage 4 activities on studies (Facilities Planning, Technologies Selection, etc.), as individual contributor or SME for assigned area of responsibility, interfacing with other disciplines.
  • Support the development of early Heat & Material Balances, Process Flow Diagrams, for new facilities in the Facilities Planning Stage.
  • Drive or support optimization studies, field verifications, and early equipment sizing.
  • Implement principles of the Right Scope Framework for Stage 1 Projects.
  • Cold-eye participation for facilities and systems reviews and resolutions as required, including P&ID, HAZOP, 3D Models, Control and Safety Instrumented System reviews.
  • Participate in field-based activities to support systems completion, turnover, and start-up.
  • Mentor lesser experience facilities engineers.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Civil, or Electrical Mechanical Engineering or related engineering specialty, or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria
  • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs
  • Read, write, and speak fluent English, especially as it applies to technical and business communications
