Job Summary

Facilities Support Apprentice will develop the knowledge and skills in the non-technical maintenance of plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilating, and/or air conditioning equipment, and other related facilities trades at a level not requiring formal licensure but with direct supervision and instruction by a Facilities Support Technician I or above. Must be insurable by TriCore's insurance carrier.

Facilities Support Technician I - Under general supervision, perform a wide range of facilities services tasks including nontechnical maintenance of plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilating, and/or air conditioning equipment, at a level not requiring formal licensure. May be required to perform tasks of other unlicensed trades, such as a light equipment operator, carpenter, painter, and/or locksmith.

Facilities Support Technician II - The purpose of this position is to provide local technical support in the laboratory and patience care centers. In addition performs duties as a Facilities Support Tech I. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Facilities Support Technician III - The purpose of this position is to provide local technical support in the laboratory and patience care centers. In addition, performs duties as a Facilities Support Tech II. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Facilities Support Technician IV - Responds to service calls to evaluate, diagnose, and perform repair and planned maintenance (PM) on basic lab equipment. Provides local technical support in the laboratory and patience care centers.

Minimum Qualifications

FACILITIES SUPPORT APPRENTICE MINIMUM - EDUCATION
High School diploma or equivalent.

FACILITIES SUPPORT APPRENTICE MINIMUM - EXPERIENCE:
None

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• Valid NM Driver's license.
• Must be insurable by TriCore's insurance carrier.

FACILITIES SUPPORT TECHNICIAN I - MINIMUM EDUCATION
High School diploma or equivalent.

FACILITIES SUPPORT TECHNICIAN I - MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
Meet one of the following:
• One (1) to three (3) years experience as a Facility Support Technician Apprentice.
• Three (3) years previous experience in building and facility maintenance.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• Driving required.
• Must be insurable by TriCore's insurance carrier.

FACILITIES SUPPORT TECHNICIAN II - MINIMUM EDUCATION
High School diploma or equivalent.

FACILITIES SUPPORT TECHNICIAN II - MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
Meet one of the following:
• One (1) to three (3) years experience as a Facility Support Technician I.
• Total of three (3) years previous experience summing to two (2) years in
building / facility maintenance and one (1) year in equipment / instrument
repair.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• Driving required.
• Must be insurable by TriCore's insurance carrier.

FACILITIES SUPPORT TECHNICIAN III - MINIMUM EDUCATION
• High School diploma or equivalent.

FACILITIES SUPPORT TECHNICIAN III - MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
Meet one of the following:
• One (1) to Three (3) years' experience as a Facility Support Technician II.
• Four (4) to six (6) years previous experience with a minimum of two (2) years in building / facility maintenance and two (2) years in equipment / instrument repair.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• Driving required.
• Must be insurable by TriCore's insurance carrier.
• Trade Certificate or License.

FACILITIES SUPPORT TECHNICIAN IV- MINIMUM EDUCATION
Meet one of the following:
• Associate of Science or (AAS) degree with a preference in STEM based degrees or combination of Associate of Art degree with 5 years of relevant experience.
• Participant in the formal Biomed/FE Services Internship or Military externship program with a preference in Biomed certification.

FACILITIES SUPPORT TECHNICIAN IV- MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
Meet one of the following:
• One (1) year experience as Facilities Support Technician III
• Four (4) years relevant experience with a minimum of two (2) years in building/facility maintenance and two (2) years in equipment and instrument repair.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• Overnight/out of town travel may be required.
• Must be insurable by TriCore's insurance carrier.
• Trade Certificate or License.
