The Facilities Technician II is responsible for performing routine repair work and maintaining designated buildings and grounds. Performs skills tradesmen construction and renovation work as assigned.

Primary tasks, duties, and responsibilities:

1. Promotes and practices the Hospice mission and values, and follows all policies and procedures of Tidewell Hospice.
2. Makes general repairs and maintains all hospice facilities and equipment as directed.
3. Responsible for the proper operation, cleanliness and maintenance of all organizational equipment assigned for use for work.
4. Reports any equipment or supply needs to the Manager of Facilities.
5. Performs general electrical, plumbing, painting and wall repair.
6. Assembles and installs equipment, shelving, etc.
7. Assesses projects so as not to cause damage or harm to building or individuals.
8. Analyzes and assesses situation(s) and makes recommendations for cost-effective solutions.
9. Professionally communicates and collaborates frequently with team members, other department colleagues, visitors and vendors.
10. Reports on site at various locations during emergency events, as defined by leadership, including but not limited to remaining at an assigned location before, during, and after the emergency event.
11. Follows directions regarding tasks and duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the colleague is required to stand and drive for long periods of time. Frequent climbing, stooping, reaching, crouching and bending. Must be able to lift/carry weights up to 50 lbs. and use appropriate tools and body mechanics to lift/carry heavier weights. Must be able to safely navigate heights and climb ladders. Manual dexterity and visual acuity necessary to use construction related hand tools and machinery. Visually read information off of a computer monitor, smart phone and paper documents. Requires ability to orally communicate information over the telephone in person and hear responses. Ability to work in all environments, including inclement weather.

Educational/Professional:

1. High School diploma.
2. Minimum of two (2) years of facility and grounds maintenance experience. Experience in
construction trades preferred.
3. An equivalent combination of professional experience and education may be considered as
meeting the Education/Professional requirements.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

1. Knowledge of and experience in general maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, painting, wall repair, equipment and shelving installation, and grounds maintenance.
2. Knowledge of use of general shop tools and making simple repairs.
3. Ability to maintain and care for landscaping.
4. Knowledge of customary safety standards and able to provide for a safe working environment.
5. Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
6. Knowledge of and experience in general maintenance.
7. Basic knowledge of computer usage, including Outlook and Microsoft Excel.
8. Must be able to travel within Tidewell's service areas as needed during daylight and night time hours in all weather conditions and abide by Tidewell motor vehicle record (MVR) guidelines.
9. Possess a current Florida drivers' license, state required auto insurance coverage, and reliable transportation.
10. Ability to read and write English.

Machines/Equipment, Tools Used:

Laptop, cell phone, scanner/copier/fax, motor vehicles (trucks, cargo vans, automobiles), with extended trailer. General power and mechanical tools and hand tools used for facilities and grounds. Manual hand tools.
