Siemens Energy Charlotte Gas Services division is currently seeking Facility and Maintenance Manager. This role will handle repairs and maintenance of manufacturing facilities and equipment including, installing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical and electronic equipment, tools, and instruments, and manufacturing facilities infrastructure, making/machining replacement tools and parts for manufacturing operations. Planning and prioritizing work orders and scheduling overall repair and maintenance activities to minimize production downtime and disruptions.

This position will report to the Plant Manager of Generator Operations in Charlotte, NC.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Manage a diverse production workforce consisting of Maintenance Technician, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, Supervisors, Planning and Support staff
  • Manage a multi-million operating budget, covering wages/benefits, shop supplies & tooling, contractors, and rendered services.
  • Assessing and Managing capital projects from conceptualization to installation and startup.
  • Manage complex maintenance processes for new and existing plant assets, spanning many different designs and manufactures
  • The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to dedicated facility service for the entire Charlotte Manufacturing plant and across multiple Product Lines
  • In addition, this person must be able to integrate maintenance engineering, project management, Technicians and support personnel into a cohesive team.
  • Oversee and coordinate the activities of the maintenance team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Manage contracts and relationships with external vendors and service providers, including negotiating terms and monitoring service levels.
  • Excellent communication skills are needed across multiple layers of the organization, spanning from operators to plant management, as well as vendor and supplier representatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Coordinate with other department managers to support overall plant operations and objectives.
  • A sound grasp of Machine assets, Facilities and Maintenance Engineering principles is required, and Product Line knowledge is desired.
  • The ability to analyze business issues and present action plans in a logical fashion is required. A strong background in the concepts of Production Systems, Lean Manufacturing and/or Continuous Process Improvement is required.
What You Bring
  • BS or advanced degree in Engineering is required.
  • 10 or more years of relevant facility and maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment with responsibility for machining, welding, and assembly. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice-versa.
  • 2 or more years of previous experience as a direct manager for non-exempt employees.
  • Prior experience managing financial aspects of a product line is preferred.
  • Prior experience in lean manufacturing is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
