Job Duties
Managerial/Administrative/Teaching Responsibilities
- Course coordinator for selected PTA courses:
- Schedule guest lectures
- Arrange off-campus tours and field trips
- Prepare course outlines, syllabi, and other course materials
- Assess student performance and enter course grades
- Serve as lab instructor in PTA courses
- As coordinator of clinical education:
- Secure letters of agreement with clinical facilities
- Assign students to clinical affiliation sites, make clinical site visits
- Provide in-service training to clinical sites
- Communicate with student and clinical instructors
- In consultation with clinical instructors regarding student clinical performance, enter grade designations for clinical courses.
- Attend administrative meetings and assist with administrative duties, such as preparing the annual accreditation report
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in PT, MPT, or DPT.
- Three years of post-licensure clinical practice, including two years of experience as a center coordinator of clinical education or clinical instructor in Physical Therapy, or a minimum of two years of experience in teaching, curriculum development and administration in a PT or PTA program.
- Licensed to practice as a PT in Tennessee.
