Assistant Professor of Pathology
RANK/TITLE:
Assistant Professor of Pathology (tenure-stream) (2-5 years of experience)
DEPARTMENT/DIVISION:
Division of Experimental Pathology, Department of Pathology, Pittsburgh Liver Research Center (PLRC), and the Health Sciences Mass Spectrometry Core (MSC) at the University of Pittsburgh.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
The successful candidate will carry out cutting-edge research to advance the use of single-cell mass spectrometry technology for single-cell proteomics and perform integrated multi-omics analysis. The technology will primarily interest liver-related diseases within the Pittsburgh Liver Research Center. In addition, the successful candidate will serve as a faculty consultant in the Health Sciences Mass Spectrometry Core and assist with all forms of proteomics projects and projects that would benefit directly from the advances of single-cell mass spectrometry analysis.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates should possess a PhD and/or MD/PhD in Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, or a related discipline with technical expertise in mass spectrometry instrumentation, method development, and data analysis related to proteomics. Experience in computational analysis and integrated multi-omics analysis is desirable. Experience working with companies, beta-testing relevant instrumentation, and sponsoring research agreements is highly desirable. The candidate will have excellent communication skills, be highly collaborative, and have an actively funded research program.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
