The Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology and Vascular Medicine Institute is seeking to fulfill a position as a Research Assistant Professor in the appointment stream. The responsibilities of this position will be 100% basic research in the lab of Dr. Stephen Chan and will include mentoring trainees and aiding in grant and manuscript drafting and revisions. The scientific focus will be on the study of systemic manifestations of pulmonary vascular and peripheral vascular disease across the heart-lung-brain axis. Such work will include in silico, in vitro cell culture, and in vivo animal modeling across heart, lung, and brain physiology in health and disease.

Candidates at the Research Assistant Professor level should have excellent communication skills, dedication to high-impact research, and the potential for a research career in academic medicine. Candidates must have PhD in Biology or Molecular Biology and should have at least 5 years of postdoctoral experience in clinical and translational research.
